Canadian Tire sponsored ARCA West race car #52

The stock car racing at Thunder Mountain Speedway had a good turnout of fans for the season opener. Two locals are racing in the ARCA West OK Tires series this year, Garnet Grimard in the 52 car and Ryley Seibert in the 09 car. The ARCA West OK Tire Series had a total of 16 cars come to town for the races and ran a 100 lap main event.

Very chilly weather greeted us at Western Speedway on Saturday afternoon the 29th of May. Twenty-eight cars were there to do battle for 100 laps on the 4/10ths oval. Fast time was 17.155 by Wade Bland in the 07 car, second fast was Dave Hemrich in the 33 car at 17.184 and third quickest was Bob Kuhn at 17.195 in the 58 car.

Chucks Thunder Mountain season openerChucks Thunder Mountain Speedway opens their season tonight with all four local classes heating up the oval. There is also a special event as the ARCA WEST OK Tire Race Series Roll into town for the Heartland Toyota 100.

The gates open at 3:00, time trials start at 5:00 and racing begins at 6:00. The Lakers Car Club will be making an appearance during the evening. Their Cruise Night run will leave the Stampede grounds at 8:00 and make a 'Show Lap' around the track between races.

The track will of course have their usual concessions, 50/50 draw, prize give-aways and all the thundering engines, dust and mayhem that always accompanies racing on the 3/8 mile tri-oval track.

Big Richmond Steel Street Stock invitational in Prince George Aug 14th and 15th, 2010.

$200 tow dough for Abotsford, Vernon, and Penticton and $300 for the island cars. We have a big sponsor for this event. Our goal is to give the weekend point invitational winner $2,000 cash and then have another $2,000 to be split up for points for everyone else. We also have our big PGX (Prince George Exhibition) in town that weekend. Camping is available at the track, and hot lapping friday night. Out of town cars must bring thier home town rule book and membership. May run new American racers, or used goodyears only, max 5/32 tread depth, All cars must weigh 3300lbs with driver, all day.


MST Carriers Mini Stocks Invitational also this weekend, max 2.3 liter, 120 factory hp rating. This is also our 25th anniversary at the new track, and we will be celabrating Saturday night with a big Bar-b-que. Please let your guys know for us.
